From 50,000 words to six

So, I didn’t quite come through victorious in my battle to complete the National Novel Writing Month contest. Holidays, house hunting, work, family, a nasty cold, and a thousand excuses won over the writer’s life.

True, I didn’t get 50,000 words, but I got a few thousand down and that’s a few thousand more than I started with this month.

On the upside, via 52 Projects, I just found out about a powerful antidote to the failed 50,000-word contest: the SMITH Magazine Six-Word Memoir Contest. This is a contest I can compete in.

My entry: “Father, son, both hit by cars.”
