Here is my list of the places you would most likely want your short fiction or novel excerpts published. I threw in my comments below. All additional comments or edits happily noted!
- Antioch Review
- The Atlantic Monthly (fiction issue): They used to have fiction in every issue, but no more!
- Esquire: They send nice rejection letters.
- Gettysburg Review
- Glimmer Train
- Granta UK: It’s actually hard to find IRC’s around Boston, making it hard to submit.
- Greensboro Review
- Harper’s: Did anybody read their serialized novel, “Happy Land”, last summer? It was great.
- Hudson Review
- Iowa Review: Iowa’s mojo is strong. They are king makers.
- Kenyon Review
- McSweeny’s Quarterly: So hip, it hurts.
- Missouri Review
- The New Yorker: The biggest of the big. Even Iowa must bow to New York.
- Paris Review: Not really from Paris.
- Ploughshares: Hey, this sounds familiar.
- Tin House: (sing it with me now) “She’s a Tin House. Mighty-mighty…” They run a great week-long fiction workshop.
- Zoetrope: Brought to you by Francis Ford Coppola himself.
Enjoy.

Hey Armand, GREAT website. I was looking for information and insight on doing a MFA, and you told me more than any flashy University website or course outline.
Regards!

Posted 20 Feb 2007 at 11:37 am ¶Clearly, I have trouble posting links. The journals I was trying to add were Virginia Quarterly and A Public Space.

Very nice site you have there, by the way.
Best,

@ Brian D’Souza-
I’m glad you like AfterTheMfa, however at least 65% of the praise should go to Gordon as the he’s the founder, chief editor and the one who keeps things going month in and out.
Thanks again for dropping by and hope to hear from you again soon.
